IELTS WRITING TASK 2 - Less communication between family members is less in this time period as compared to the past time

It is observed that communication between family members in today's time is less as compared to the past. However, some people do not think so. Do you agree or disagree?

The technological era has bestowed people with high-tech gizmos to communicate and to remain in touch of kith and kins, living near or far away from them. But the over indulgence of people in this gadgets have made them isolated leading to less interaction with family members. Not only this is the cause, there are many other factors that are decreasing the conversation between family members.

In yester years, people work intent in their life and were satisfied with their available resources. But today people have become green-eyed monsters who are ready to live a slavery life to have whole nine yards. In this race to acquire everything, they remain busy and half replaced their family time with the office time. Along with money, status is very prominent in today's elite societies. To maintain it, elders of the family attend social functions more than their kids school functions and substitute their absence by giving mobile phones and other gadgets to their children.

Further, kids today are highly ambitious. They want to leave a mark in society and the world. Their this desire is fulfilled by devoting more time to particular activity find their this habit isolates them firstly for their near ones and make them introvert eventually. Finally, commonly known that every new generation think, they are better than the last, because of this, generation gap is never ending phenomenon. Due to this gap, it is difficult to see eye to eye on a topic and fights take place due to differences. For instance, in India, till last year, it was very difficult for children to confront parents and tell them about their liking for same gender. This was because the orthodox thinking of parents. So, this thinking gap makes either of them numb.

Contemplating my aforementioned views, I would like to conclude that technology has given us devices to ease our life not to drag us away from our family. It's upto us, rather than giving excuse of less time or no time to family members, people should try to plan their schedule in such a way that they can easily manage their personal and professional life.
