IELTS writing task 2 - Essay - Buying fashionable clothes is wasteful

Question: Buying fashionable clothes is wasteful because people don't need new clothes all the time. Clothes should be bought and used more wisely. Do you agree?

Vogue is blindly followed by people of all age groups and  income groups. Usually folks wear new clothes, accessories to attract the other gender and for this individuals have become shopaholic and continue to buy new dresses without thinking wisely, which is a wrong approach as clothes should be purchased and used more wisely as there are many reasons to support this argument.

Clothes need to be worn to cover the body and not to show status but this has become a statement in all the societies. People buy clothes without considering their budget. When they forget to cut the corner then they land themselves in the pool of troubles. For instance, when people their shipping bills with credit cards then, they have to return the actual sum with some interest to the bank, This actually leads to over expenditure and sometimes to debts. When these are difficult to pay then that bring stress.

In addition to this, people need to buy clothes not according to the trend but according to their body shapes as well as taste. A cloth which does not fits a body will make a beautiful person ugly whereas, a cloth which is very well fitted will enhance a person's personality. For example, Mallika Sherawat was highly criticized for wearing  a wrong and ill fitted dress in the 2019th Cannes festival. Individuals need to take a lesson from these incidents and buy dresses accordingly.

Hammering the last nail of the coffin, I would like to say that beauty lies in the eyes of beholder ad this is not affected by the outer appearance of the person. People need to understand that clothes are to cover the body not to reflect social status so wise decision need to be taken at the time of purchase.

Ielts writing task 2: People get information through news and paper but meanwhile are uncertain about the truth of these news

Question: Nowadays, people get information through news and papers but meanwhile are uncertain about the truth of these news. Should we believe the journalist? What qualities should be a good journalist or correspondent have?

Answer:

News help us to remain up-to-date with the world and these are received from various modes a few are television, radio and internet. In this technological era, a piece of information spreads like a wildfire that people have become skeptical, and this human nature is giving rise to a moot question of trusting the journalist or not.

A journalist who is responsible for showing the true picture of the society is not free from the blot. A news reader can be misguided by the false or exaggerated news given by a journalist. Moreover, in this materialistic era, people want the whole nine yards and this greed can be fulfilled only with money. Money which is given in excess to journalist who praise and show only the positive sides of a particular political party. Simply, they become puppets of the parties and try to create a white collar image of them. So, people should not blindly believe on the news but should analyse and understands news from different facets to extract the actual matter as today's journalist are famous for making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Journalism is not everyone's cup of tea. There are many challenges in this field. A person who wants to be a journalist needs to be brave to overcome these obstacles as people bribe them to change their news and to make them speakers of the party. A reporter should be unbiased to portray the actual picture of the person or the situation. People are introduced to different topics by the journalist so a journalist should be well versed with myriad topics and even if he does not know about something then he should have the curiosity to learn different things. Above all, command over language is needed as an orator who can convey properly can touch a millions of heart and make his point crystal clear in the receiver's mind.

Contemplating all the aforementioned points, I would like to say that journalist should work with dignity and be loyal to their profession as their news have a profound effect on people's mind and they are playing an important part in shaping the society we live in.

Tips: Journalism is the fourth pillar of the successful democracy. The other three being the legislature, executive and the judiciary.
A journalist, like the judge, like an umpire must be unbiased and totally impartial to any group.

Ielts letter writing - Letter to airport manager to tell them to reward an employee who helped you

You have recently come back from overseas holiday. An employee at the airport helped you when you were in trouble. Write a letter to airport manager. In you letter:
- Describe your problem
- How the employee helped you
- Tell the manager to give a reward to that employee

Dear Sir

I am really very pleased with your customer handling service and would like to share one incident when your employee helped a baffled and helpless person at the airport on the 15th of September.

My journey was from Canada to Amritsar with a stay at Dubai. Dubai being the popular with eye pleasing architecture attract millions of travelers. During my short stop there, I could not resist myself and was eager to explore the airport. I got so much mesmerized with the beauty that I forget to carry my handbag with me. My short memory created other trouble as I also forget terminal number and gate number at which I have to report.

This situation made me black and I was about to fade when one of your employee named Zain Ali held me and took me to emergency room. As, I was unable to conversate in Arabic, he found someone, who can speak Hindi and this helped me to describe my problem. Not only this, with his kind help, I was able to find my hand bag which had all the necessary documents that I required to board a plane.

Sir, I would request you to appreciate and reward Mr. Zain Ali for his commitment towards his work and there by encouraging him to continue this type of work in future. Hope this will uplift the spirit of all your employee and company.

Writing task 2- An increase in price of junk food will reduce the number of obese people.

Question: Recent studies have shown that overweight people trend to eat junk food that are high in unhealthy fats. Some people argue that an increase in  price of such foods will serve as a deterrent and thus reduce the number of overweight people. Do you agree and disagree?

Answer:-
In this modern and cut throat competitive world, people have altered themselves to work, round the clock. This new lifestyle has given rise to a number of health problems and amongst these obesity is considered to be the most fatal one. This is thought to be increasing due to consumption of fast food. So to hold the fist in this problem, rise in price is suggested. But I think, this is not the pragmatic solution due to a lot of reasons.

Firstly, the people who are habitual of eating fast food will not change their taste because old habits die hard. A person who has accustomed himself to a particular eating habit will not be able to resist himself as his body will demand these. Moreover, daily intakers will not care about the price because their taste and satisfaction matter a lot. This can be easily justified by taking an example of fuel price in India. Today,  a liter of petrol costs about Rs 90 but this deep hole in pockets is not bothering people as driving their own private vehicle has become their lifestyle and is considered no more a luxury but a need.

Further, it is scientifically proven that obesity is not because of fast food but can be caused by the genetic problems. As it is often observed that a kid of obese parents often overweight. Finally, these junk food restaurants are supporting millions of families because this industry has given work to myriad waiters, chefs and managers. Expensive food stuff will bring a darker era in this industry and will make many jobless.

At the tip of the iceberg, increase in the price of any commodity of a man is not the right solution. Increased rates of junk food will not stop people from purchasing these, but can create a rage in them against government as for them, it may be a restriction on their freedom right. Authorities need to promote healthy lifestyle in order to make people fit and fine.

Ielts Writing Task 2

Rather than promoting the quality of products advertisements encourage consumers to buy the product in bulk.

Answer:

Advertisements are becoming ubiquitous as earlier these were found in newspaper and televisions but no a person can see these on the roads or even on their social networks. The prime aim of these is to show the characteristics of products but folks assert these urge people to purchase many products at the same time rather than single product which is their need. I concur to the statement tat they are promoting the qualities of good because of many factors that I would like to elaborate further.

Today, people are literate, they know about their actual needs. This is the reason that they are no longer lured by the false adverts that make mountain out of mole hill. Folks select the products by looking at its components rather than its face value. This is the reason that promoters today are showing the actual face of the product as they know persuading intelligent mind is quite a tough job.

Further, to leave a positive mark on consumes mind, distinct marketing strategies are used. Like to prove the effectiveness of hair oil "Indu Rekha", an oil brand reveal its scientific testing in its advertisement. Moreover, many successful business entities know quality brings the goodwill for the company. If they sell, products of cheap quality, their customers will not come back and to stay in business, one has to retain customers to suggest their good quality products to others and do mouth advertisement.

All in all, advertisements are important to reveal the features of products. Its people who need to analyse their needs and purchase accordingly.

Ielts writing task 2 - Team activities can teach more skills for life than activities which are played alone.

Question:-

Team activities can teach more skills for life than activities which are played alone.

To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Write at least 250 words.

Learning is a life long process from cuddle to grave. In the life span, a person learns from parents, peers, teacher and even from group works or solo works. Many people hold the view that solo works teach more to an individual than team work. But I and many other people contradict this notion and back the opposite view.

Firstly, man is a social animal who has been working in the groups to ensure its survival like hunting animals in jungle to get food for community since the immemorial. Moreover, this venture inculcates a sense of belongingness in the people's mind. It teaches them the value of unity. For instance, India's freedom is not because of a single individuals but because of the efforts of the numerous freedom fighters.

Further, this work teaches sharing, caring and an ability to understand feeling and opinion of others which is next to impossible in an individual's work. A person who works in a team becomes more adaptable and this is the need of the hour as more and more employers are selecting candidates who have mastered this trait and can easily mold themselves in any shape. So this work not only helps them personally but also professionally by giving them employment.

A man who works individually may get the authority to take decisions but he will have less options to select from. Whereas, in team work, many minds work together giving rise to a spectrum of innovative ideas and solutions of a problem. So, the group work not only makes a person creative but also gives the chance to learn from others' experience.

To sum up, the team works are more beneficial for people owing to its myriad advantages. One should always prefer this as together people can stand strong and single stick can be broken easily.

Ielts Letter Writing

Question:- A good friend has just changed school and is having difficulty fitting in and needs tour advice. Write a letter to your friend in your letter:- make suggestions as to how they could make friends- suggest joining club, participating in school activities- give any extra general advice

Dear

Answer:

Dear Steven

I have read your letter and I am very surprised to read that a garrulous and extrovert person like you is not getting involved in the new environment and not having a single friend even after a week since joining new school.

Steven, you were the star of our school group and you can easily mold yourself in different situations. Your charming personality and positive outlook seems  to be faded as you were not in the favor of this shift. But my friend do not worry, we need to change with the time. You can impress and become friend with people with your these two traits and do not forget your sense of humor. Try to approach people rather than waiting for them to come first.

You can easily find like minded people in the games courts or in the theater. Moreover, you can participate in competitions and cultural activities. There group work will help you to talk with people and learn about their perspectives.

Further, Steven you need to go slow as people take time to accept new persons. You can help them in their homework, share your knowledge and remember you are a very good cook. Use your culinary skills tactfully.

I hope these suggestions will boost your confidence and your next letter will include many stories of your new friends.

Yours truly

Question: More and more students choose to go to another country for their higher studies. Do you thing the benefit outweigh the problems associated with it?

Answer: Acquiring higher education in another country has become a a trend and some are the days when parents were afraid of sending their kids alone to another nation. Today, people think that developed countries offer more benefits to the learners of higher education should be completed there. Indeed, this has many advantages but a few disadvantages it offer cannot be neglected.
In most first world countries, curriculum is totally based on practical knowledge not solely developed around theoretical information. As in most underdeveloped countries or in developing countries like India and Pakistan, tutors test a pupil's bookish knowledge not the practical experience that is required actually in working sector. Another reason o moving to another country is, job opportunities which are available in some countries and in other, many experienced people do not have jobs.
Choice of country for doing higher education depends upon the economy of the nation as well. Higher economies give a sense of security to a person that's why people dream to get their masters degree from the USA and Canada. Not only it offers professional security but also gives an individual a chance to learn from others. They learn to share, co-operate, mix with people of other race an creed. This gives them a chance to enjoy different festivals like, a Punjabi in Canada celebrates 'Gurupurab' Sikh festival and Halloween , a Christian festival.
In the bright side of a lamp, its dull side cannot be ignored. A person who lives away from his family feels isolated and sometimes becomes a patient of depression and stress. But this problem can be easily resovled by becoming one of the native people, while in Rome, do as Romans do.
At the tip of iceberg, benefits and drawbacks are two facets of a thing. The few problems with higher education in another country cannot devalue its numerous benefits so learners should study in another countries to gain knowledge and to get acquainted with others' life style and culture.

Ielts writing task 2 Few people devote time to their hobbies

Question:- Few people devote time to their hobbies nowadays. Say why you think this is the case and what effects this has on the individuals and the society in general

Answer: In the yesteryear, people had some free time in their day to spend with kith and kin and to pursue their hobbies. But, to are so much engrossed in their work day that they do not have time to relax and involve in their hobbies. This new life style is not only due to this reason but because of numerous other factors that I will elaborate in the upcoming paragraphs along with its effects.

Folks of modern world are over ambitious. They want to have whole nine yards and for this they work at a stretch from dawn to dusk. They have replaced their leisure time with their work and money has become front burner for them. This is not because of workers attitude but also because of company policies as it takes two to tango. Companies want to be successful and to maximize profits, they overburden their employees and pressure them to work for longer hours. Finally, for many parents, education and hobbies cannot go hand in hand. As they think that education secures the future of their children so some restrict their kids from following their hobbies. Sometimes, the excessive homework does not allow pupils to indulge in some creative works.

Changing lifestyle always bring some positive and negative effects so as lack of hobbies has. Absent of hobbies restrict the growth of a person. As playing chess, a hobby, sharpens the mind and outdoor games facilitate the body movement and encourages the holistic development of a person. A society which has less number of hobbies enthusiasts will have monotonous environment, fatigued personalities and less creativity. As free time activities make an individual innovative, energetic an agile.

At the tip of iceberg, hobbies are the essential part of our life as these rejuvenates people. Though folks today are busy but they should not neglect and forget the role of hobbies in their life as hobbies can become profession and has power to make a person "God of cricket Sachin Tendulkar"
